Policies

To confirm your reservation, 100% of the total booking cost is required at the time of booking. This payment secures your room and is non-refundable unless the conditions of our cancellation policy are met or if you have purchased a separate 'Travel Protection' plan that covers cancellations. Please review these policies carefully to understand your options.

Desk Hours are 8:00am to 9:00pm.

During the Autumn and Winter months, hours may vary depending upon business.

Check In is between 3:00pm and 8:30pm

Check Out is at 11:00am.

*Late Check Out, may be requested from hotel management at any time. Approval is required before the hotel will honor a late check out. There is a $15.00 late check out fee that allows guests to stay up to 1:00pm. Please note that only a limited number of late checkouts can be approved each day, and they are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. If your request cannot be accommodated, it is solely due to our commitment to maintaining the highest quality of service for all of our guests. This policy may be affected by peak seasons.


  • All our rooms are located on the second floor, accessible by stairs only.


  • We welcome guests over the age of 12. For guests under the age of 12, please contact the hotel prior to making your reservation.
  • If you drive to La Conner, we have a guest loading zone to the north of the hotel and street parking is unrestricted and free.

*Travel Protection is a separately purchased item that you may or may not,  opt in to at the time you pay and book your room. This protection plan is provided  by a third party distributor, not Hotel Planter. Terms and conditions are not set or reviewed by the hotel. If you have purchased Travel Protection for your reservation there will be a link inside your confirmation email in which you may submit a claim. Travel protection is only offered to guests booking directly through Hotel Planters website or with the hotel by phone. Please note that this option is only available to guests booking at least 2 weeks in advance. Hotel Planters cancellation policy stated below still applies to all reservations unless covered separately by a protection plan.

This is a non-smoking establishment and property. This includes inside the hotel, the hotel courtyard, the back door area, and the loading zone. As well as within 25 feet of the hotels front door per Washington State Law. If a guest is found to be smoking inside of the hotel, often those rooms are rendered un-rentable. Fines will be imposed, likely to be in the sum of several nights stay.

Due to the historic nature of the building there is no air conditioning. Ceiling and portable fans are in each room. Generally it is not an issue as the breeze from the water helps to keep the rooms comfortable.

We are happy to announce that we are now open to guest and pet travel. Guests who would like to bring their pet with them currently will need to bring any supplies needed for their stay. Guests will sign a waiver acknowledging that their pet and it's behavior are the sole responsibility of its owner. The property shall not be held liable for any incidents involving a pet and another guest. Pet owners are also liable for any damages caused to the property by a pet. Pets shall be on a leash at all times while on the property in any common areas and guests are not allowed to leave their pet unattended in their room. The add-on to have your pet accompany you at Hotel Planter is $20/day. We do ask that you please contact the hotel prior to your arrival if you plan on bringing a pet with you. We do expect that all pets being brought to the hotel are properly trained. 

Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the day of arrivals check-in time, in order to receive a refund for the full cost of your booking. Customers who do not cancel their booking by 3PM - 72 hours prior to check-in, will only receive a refund for the cost of one nights stay + tax. This does not apply to bookings made only for one night. A refund will not be issued for guests who cancel after the cut-off and only booked one night. This policy applies to each individual room that is booked. If your reservation was made with Expedia, an Expedia Affiliate Partner, or Booking.com, it is recommended that you start the cancellation process with them. Refunds will not be issued for reservations made with one of our third party partners as those bookings are not charged until the guest arrives to the hotel. However, you may still incur a cancellation fee. To better understand what that fee might be please look to the third party partner that you booked with as the policies vary from one third party partner to the other.  Reservations that are made less than 72 hours away from their scheduled check-in time do not have the option of being cancelled. On the occasion you are not able to reach us by phone to make your cancellation, please email us at hotelplanter@aol.com. We are a small privately owned, 12 room hotel. If you think you might need to cancel your reservation, please plan accordingly. To help us provide the best service to all our guests, we kindly request that you inform us of any cancellations as soon as possible. This allows us the opportunity to re-book the room and offer it to other guests who may be looking for accommodations. There are no exceptions to this policy.
